GK Best Paper Award
The 2008 GK Best Paper Award for the best cognitive science publication by early-career researchers was presented to Tobias Schlicht at KogWis08. The three finalists were:

Brainproducts Best Poster Award
The Brainproducts Best Poster Award went to Thorsten Zander, Sabine Jatzev, and Matthias Rötting for their paper “Examining Causes for Non-Stationarities 2: The Loss of Controllability Is a Factor That Induces Non-Stationarities.” Two second-place awards were presented to S. Brüssow, D. Holt, and J. Funke (Predicting Eye Movement Behavior in a Complex Scheduling Task using a cognitive process model derived from verbal protocols) and to T. Hieber, M. Hofmann, E. Kitzelmann, and U. Schmid (Programming Recursive Functions By Examples).
