SECOND AND FINAL CALL FOR POSTER-SUBMISSIONS 7th Tübingen Perception Conference TWK 2004 30th January - 1st February 2004 Kupferbau, Hölderlinstr. 5, 72074 Tübingen, FRG http://twk.tuebingen.mpg.de/ ************************************************************************ ** Abstracts for poster submissions must be ** ** received online by the 8th of December ** ************************************************************************ Dear Colleagues, The success of our previous TWK conferences encourages us to host the 7th Tübingen Perception Conference, TWK2004, from the 30th of January until the 1st of February 2004. The central aim of the TWK is to bring together researchers from different disciplines ranging from psychology, physiology, biology, computer science, and medicine to physics in order to facilitate interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and ideas in the field of perception. This years' symposia are "Contributions of the cerebellum to sensation and perception" organised by Klaus Mathiak (Tübingen), "Visual Localization in Space-Time" organised by Dirk Kerzel (Gießen) and "Signal Processing in the Central Auditory System" organised by Petra Arndt (Oldenburg). On Friday evening Prof. Manfred Spitzer (University Clinic, Ulm) will give a public evening lecture entitled "Die Macht innerer Bilder: Wahrnehmung, Vorstellung, Halluzination" (which, unlike all the symposia and the poster session, will be given in German). As in previous years one of the main features of the TWK is an extended poster session, without any parallel symposia, which runs all Saturday afternoon. The deadline for abstract submission to participate in the poster session is Monday the 8th of December. Please note that the deadline for submissions is significantly earlier than in previous years and that all abstracts should be in English (maximally 400 words, no figures). Abstracts must be submitted via the TWK website, at the address above. In addition, the site contains information regarding the programme, registration fees, and the conference dinner as well as links to local hotels to arrange accommodation. We very much hope we will be able to welcome a large number of participants from many different scientific disciplines. The Organizers, Heinrich B. Bülthoff Hanspeter A. Mallot Rolf Ulrich Felix A. Wichmann ************************************************************************ TWK programme (from http://twk.tuebingen.mpg.de/twk04/programm.php) The TWK programme consists of three symposia with invited speakers, an evening lecture by Prof. Manfred Spitzer, and poster presentations. ************************************************************************ =================================== Friday 30th January 2004 =================================== 15:00 Registration and hanging of posters 16:25 Welcome Symposium 1: Contributions of the Cerebellum to Sensation and Perception (Klaus Mathiak, Universität Tübingen) Symposium to be conducted in English 16:30 Introduction Klaus Mathiak (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) 16:40 Sensory Activation in the Macaque’s Cerebellum Fahad Sultan (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) & Nikos Logothetis (MPI Tübingen) 17:10 Contributions of the Cerebellum to Visual Perception Hans-Peter Thier & Thomas Haarmeier (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) 17:40 The Role of the Cerebellum in Auditory Perception Hermann Ackermann & Klaus Mathiak (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) 18:10 Coffee break 18:40 The Cerebellum as a Sensory Coordinator Lawrence M.
